Have you ever experienced an interview where things did not go according to plan yet you still secured the role?

What type of interview bloopers have you experienced?

    Please share below :)

On a Skype interview recently, the call dropped in the middle of a 20min A level lesson I was giving through Skype, it took 5min to reconnect.

The next step was the main interview. The Head asks the "why this school" question, I start speaking and go: "I strongly believe in your ethos of, of.....

Blank. Not one word is coming to my mind. I had to apologise and we moved on to the next question.

I got the job and I'm very excited to start this September.

Many congratulations to you shamandalie and thanks for sharing.

What role will you start in September?

What was it that made your mind go blank?

    Thank you I'm secondary MFL.

I think what made my mind go blank is stress and the fact that the interview was at 8pm after a whole day teaching, in the last week before Easter.

But it goes to show that you don't need to be perfect to get the job!

An interview at 8pm??? In the week you were breaking up for Easter?

Wow! Interesting to hear of interviews taking place so late in the day / evening.

Well done, none the less :)

I once went to an interview, sat down only to be told my blouse was open, looked down and I was revealing most of my bra where the buttons had popped open. I did not get the job, but do not think it was anything to do with revealing my chest :)
