Interview advice in Northern Ireland Special School please

Discussion in 'Special educational needs' started by cmcv, May 21, 2012.

  1. There is a lot of competition for teaching posts in NI especially in the special sector.
Generally you dont have to teach a lesson and there are usually four or five specfic questions, Generally there will be one on skils or experience, aslo questions on challanging behaviour, ASD ICT and links with parents and/or other agencies are common. Also there are usually around 5 or 6 on the interviewpanel.
As i said competition is tough so good luck

  3. Hi thanks,

Will keep those in mind, unfortunately I did not get the job. But fingers crossed another interview will come up.

    Questions I was asked were:

    1) Name 3 skills and experiences you can bring to the job.

    2) What use do you make of Classroom assistance?

    3) If a pupil was not making progress in a curriculum area what would you do?

    PS

Is it common for schools to provide feedback from non successful interviews?

    Thanks

    Pamey
