I have a friend who studied in Hong Kong achieving a Early Childhood Education Postgraduate Diploma, equivalent to a PGCE. She is asking if she would be able to apply for a TA role without doing a TA course/qualification. She also has experience of working as a TA in Hong Kong.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Most school regard experience more important than qualifications even if they do ask for them on job adverts. She would need to become familiar with the English Curriculum so possibly volunteering at a school to help with this.
Tell her to just apply and see what happens.
She could have her qualifications check for uk equivalence here https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/
