Hi, I am an English teacher working in education in Scotland. As is the case with a majority of 'new' teachers in Scotland just now I have been working as a temporary/supply teacher since completing my probation. I consider myself very fortunate to have been working as a teacher more often than not these last couple of years. However, I want to work in a permanent position so I've decided to put aside my idealistic sensibilities and be more proactive! I'd like to apply to independent schools both in Britain and abroad but I am inexperienced in writing a traditional 'Teaching CV' as most positions advertised in Scotland have standardised local authority online application forms and do not deal with CVs. Can anyone offer me some guidance on essential content, layout, covering letter etc.?
