Internal applicants only - is this allowed for new teaching posts?

Discussion in 'Workplace dilemmas' started by MediaPumpkin, Apr 2, 2012.

  1. Just wondered if anyone can help me with a query.
Are schools allowed to advertise new teaching posts to internal applicants only? e.g. to guarantee a GTP student gets the job.

The LA don't actually have a say in it - it's down to the governing body to determine their own policy.

My school are very open about the fact that they choose to advertise externally for everything.
