Inspiring ideas for KS3 English at PRU?

Discussion in 'English' started by leonard123, Mar 8, 2012.

  1. Although have been teaching for many years am finding it harder to find materials/ideas etc which pupils will find remotely interesting and which might capture their imaginations. Everything 'boring'--especially when it involves writing or thinking. Looking for things they'll enjoy and where they are actually learning something at same time. Any suggestions?

Google 'Tim Rylands' who has loads of amazingly engaging ideas.

And if you have access to ICT, you could have a look at my blog too: idiscoveriteach.com and click on the 'writing' or 'publishing' label for giving the learners a real audience for writing as well as some cool tools to do it.

We are about to launch 'Free Writing' as a regular feature of our lessons and there was a recent post on here about it with some great links. See if you can find it as I can't quite recall at the mo - maybe someone else can?
