    Anyone using these? Thoughts?

    Singapore, Bar model etc.

Anyone able to explain why their year 3 textbook is at a higher level than the year 3 curriculum?

    Thanks in advance.

We use it too. Personally I'm not a great fan. I find it jumps around but, as an NQT, perhaps that's just my inexperience showing. Perhaps once we've taught the whole year using it, it may all become clear. Also concerned about the level of challenge - is it too high? It goes to 3 digit numbers whereas our partner schools are teaching only to 2 digits for Yr 2. Confused!

Don't bother with it. Everything required is detailed in the National Curriculum, so stick to it and the formal methods it prescribes.
