    Usually 3/4 weeks notice
First day (Mon pm) spent interviewing HT/DHTs and relevant PTs
Might only spend the Tues / Wed visiting classes. Feedback to schools by Thurs pm or Fri am
Much of the "inspection" is done beforehand through pupil/parent/staff surveys. Been 2 inspections in my place over the last decade - they never came near my class!

It's two weeks notice for Primary and three weeks for secondary. It lasts for one week with classroom observations mainly on the Tuesday and Wednesday but they sometimes can also run into the Thursday.

HMIE/ES's main role now is to check you have done their inspecting for them and have the evidence to back up your self-evaluation. Great scam.
