Discussion in 'Music' started by ViolaMan, Feb 15, 2011.

  1. I am currently researching influences on AS and A2 compositions. Are students influenced by devices they study in their set works, is the music they listen to recreationally of any influence on their composing etc. If anyone has any thoughts they would like to share with me then I would be interested in hearing them. Additionally if there are any interesting books out there perhaps you could advise. Many thanks.

Have you had a look at the current EDEXCEL syllabus? Students at AS level have to write a sleeve note in which they discuss specific influences on their own composition.
