TES published this little gem under the heading CLARIFICATION:
In last week's report "How much do they earn", we mistakenly listed headmaster Barnaby Lenon as the top earning staff member at Harrow School, on £170,000 to £180,000. Mr Lenon has asked us to point out that he is not the highest earning staff member, and the quoted salary was that of a colleague. On the front page we prematurely knighted Dr Anthony Seldon. Apologies to both.
So if it's not Barnie the Head earning that money, who is it?
    Presumably the Bursar?
And anyone want to open a book on Anthony becoming a Sir?
  2. You can tell how many staff are in what brackets of earnings from the charity commission website.

Almost certainly - because the bursar is responsible for the finances of the John Lyon School as well as of Harrow School itself.
  4. poor Barnaby. I guess he struggled to educate his girls then on his meagre salary. Maybe he should have changed the archaic benefit giving sons of teachers almost twice the amount in their educational fund than girls of teachers. Although, perhaps his wife got the largest salary for working so hard with staff families.
