Prayer for the end of the virus
SECAM, the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences in Africa and Madagascar, has suggested the following prayer for all those affected by the coronavirus:[IMG]

I will try to post links for all faiths

May God bless and protect all of you during these very trying times

Almighty and merciful Father, who show your love to all your creation.

We come before you asking for a quick control of the Coronavirus currently ravaging our world.

Hear graciously the prayers we make for those affected by the virus in various parts of the world.

Grant healing to the sick, eternal life to the dead and consolation to the bereaved families.

We pray that an effective medicine to combat the sickness be speedily found.

We pray for the relevant governments and health authorities that they take appropriate steps for the good of the people.

Look upon us in your mercy and forgive us our failings. Amen.

I'm sure it's a lovely prayer for those who are this way inclined and it will bring them comfort but I'm not sure why the OP thinks non believers would want to partake. I'm an atheist and I will not be praying to an entity I do not believe in.

Apologies I just didn't want to exclude anyone and thought that some might take comfort in the words and good intentions whether a believer or not.

Not a believer, but always interested in what others believe. It may help me to understand their thinking. I can respect the sincerity even if I cannot share the sentiment.

Don't worry. Considering the provenance,I'm more than happy to consider myself excluded.

However,as I have said,if this bring peace to some, why not. However, not for me.

Some people may find this helpful. I'm not sure why you feel it necessary to be unpleasant.

Exactly the point I have made in both my posts.

Unpleasant? Not at all. Just making the point that, as an atheist,I do not hedge my bets and pray to something I know I do not believe to exist. I would have been quite happy to ignore the thread,if the OP had not included non believers in the title.

    Palm Sunday Prayer
    Matthew 21:1-11; Psa 118:1-2; Psa 118:19-29

    Lord God,
I give you thanks, for you are good, and your mercy is endless.
Here I stand, at the start of this holy week,
This week in which your church remembers Jesus’ passion and death,

And I am distracted by many things.
Turn my eyes now to the One who comes in your name
The one who opens the gates of righteousness
The one who answers when we call.

I bless you, Lord, for shining your light upon me,
And for sending your son to us, in human frailty.
To walk the road we walk.
Open my eyes that I may see him coming,

And may praise him with a pure heart.
And may walk in the way of his suffering,
And share also in his resurrection.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.https://www.ibelieve.com/faith/8-prayers-to-pray-each-day-of-holy-week.html
