    Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that later this month the current forums will be migrated to an upgraded platform.

The latest version of the platform includes the following features:
    • Enhanced mobile-friendly style and faster loading pages
    • Wider selection of emojis and reactions
    • New look member profile preview panel
    • URL unfurling
    • Content bookmarking and sharing
    • BB code and rich text editing for comments
    • Member stats – giving you more statistics about notable members with the most posts, new members
    • Quick thread with prompts
    • Extra navigation tabs
    i. What’s new - these navigation tabs can take content from all sources including media items
ii. Find threads - unanswered threads

The contents of the current forum, including watched threads, private conversations, members’ statuses etc, will be copied over to the new platform – provided there are no unforeseen technical issues.

This is an upgrade of the software we use now so the forums will have some of the functionality that you are familiar with as well as new features to play with.

The migration is due to happen on Wednesday 25th September so there will be no access to the forums from 1am to 8am – however as with any migration/server update, this is subject to change depending on how well the process goes.

It’s probably best to stop posting before 10pm on Tuesday 24th September to ensure that any new messages/private conversations are not lost during the migration.

There will also be a new design on the forums, particularly to make navigation on mobile a lot easier for members and visitors to find the information they need and to take part in conversations.

The new forum will be a ‘work in progress’ and further tweaks may be needed to improve navigation and the look and feel of the site.

I will remind you nearer the time about the migration date and when the forums will be switched off. In the meantime, please feel free to spread the word about the plans, particularly if you come across a member who is unaware of what is going to happen in a couple of weeks.

As long as the new site works with AddBlocker, vpn and doesn't harvest all my private data and internet history. I totally refuse to use an "app" to read any content from the internet.

The current site often throws me out by blocking my IP address due to the use of a proxy server and my option to refuse third party cookies read requests.
