I'm not angry at the EIS...

  1. You have to mind that lots of people in the EIS are not teachers and so they will feel no need to vote.

    I hadn't thought of that. So I've emailed the EIS to see if they can provide me with a breakdown of how many members are teachers and how many are employed in another capacity. Then we can see if the picture is less bleak than I first thought.

    I'm not angry at the EIS (or any union for that matter) either. I'm also interested to know what percentage of EIS members are not working as teachers. Then we can see what's what.

    Fair point. Librarians and music instructors can be EIS members. THe voting should surely be restricted to those affected by this deal. SSTA did not ballot members in the private sector - they have a different contract.
