If you time-travelled from the Seventies, what would most surprise you now?

This is kind of a re-hash of a few threads doing the rounds but I wonder what I would find most surprising, were I a Seventies time traveller? I suppose any answers given will be technology based. I think I would go with smart phones.

That we didn't have a moonbase.

That we hadn't landed on Mars.

[we being the Americans I guess]

That space hoppers aren't a mainstream form of transport.

That coppers in police dramas no longer call villains scrotes and beat them up when they catch them, like they did in the Sweeney.

Use to work with a year head who referred to pupils as scrotes. He was about 15 years older than me so around the 70s era. They put him out on Capability for it. [least that's the version I heard, Capability being what it is, you never really know].

More like a dream than magic I suspect. I wouldn't mind betting you're all a figment of my imagination and would disappear from my conciousness if I stopped eating cheese before bedtime.

I would say computers. Even a calculator was expensive when I was at school. When I took O level maths they weren't allowed though two years later I did use one for A level. My grandmother was born in 1891 and died in 1979 and I have sometimes wondered what she found the most amazing change during her lifetime.

That we willingly pay monthly bills for invisible commodities that won’t ever actually belong to us and would be taken away from us if we ever stopped the payments.

How the books & vinyl collecting 70’s versions of ourselves would have laughed at that concept.
