Ideas needed for fruit/veg growing topic please!

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by lauragillott, May 7, 2011.

  1. Hi.
I am taking my children on a trip to a farm where there is going to be a strong emphasis on planting fruit and vegetables so I thought it would be a great idea to start off with the book- Oliver's vegetables.
I am just wondering if anyone have any lovely ideas/activities which will focus around this.
I have already thought about turning the role play area into a green grocers, making soup, planting seeds and talking about growing (roots and what plants need to grow) and I have also thought about making pictures using fruit and veg (have you ever seen the picture of the 'vegetable man?') but I cant think of anything else!

    Thanks in advance.
    Laura
