Ideas for "Our School's Birthday" project please!

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Meriones, Sep 2, 2012.

  1. Our school is hitting a fairly huge milestone this year. I shalln't say what for fear of giving our identity away, but it's more than 50 years. As a staff we've been asked to come up with ideas for celebrating this, both as a staff team and with the students. We appear to have covered all the obvious things (To us, anyway!) for the 50th birthday, so something new and unusual is needed for this year. Do any of you lovely people have any creative ideas?
We've also been asked to come up with some projects for each class to do within the community. We could do litter picks, sing songs at the local nursing homes and all the expected activities, but again, we'd like to do something a bit different to keep the kids interested. Suggestions welcome!

We held a tea party for old "children" of the school, those who had been there when the school opened ( and some who had been at the previous school!) They very kindly answered questions for us, were shown around the school by the current headboy and girl, then weasked the oldest to hoist a flag on a newly erected flagpole. We now fly the county flag every day.
