Ideas for outdoor learning activities - RE, music, PSHCE, handwriting

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by aug79, Dec 5, 2011.

  1. Since becoming a mum I now only work very part time (1 day a week). This year I am working for the first time in a reception class which I am really enjoying. Last week the HT set me my PD targets for the year and on of them was to 'maximise the opportunities for outside learning in the FS through PSHE, RE, handwriting and music'.

I wonder if anyone has any ideas they could share with me for outdoor learning activities for handwriting, RE, music and PSHCE.
  2. Hi - my blog "I'm a teacher, get me OUTSIDE here!" has more than 250 blog posts on all these subjects and more! http://creativestarlearning.blogspot.com/ Go to the "Help Blog Index" tab below the header and scroll down.

At the appendix in this Education Scotland document there are subject specific links http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/Images/outdoor_learning_support2_tcm4-675958.pdf and the "Learning Outside the Classroom" website has lots more too.
