    Difficult one and needs treating sensitively - we've never made them as unfortunately a very high percentage of our children don't have a dad to come home to ...

  4. We don't do them for same reasons as above.

    BUT - When is it? My Dad will be seriously disappointed if I forget!

  5. June 17. I was going to play safe and just make cards to give to that special person! I was thinking of a handprint poem. Got a few of them.

  6. Thanks.

  7. We do do it because some chidlren are brought up by fathers at our school after recent bereavement of mothers. Think it is important to recognise the hard work these blokes are doing! If any children do not see dad we do one for mum or anyone they want to say thank you to. I don't have a dad so can talk to any I upset.
    Had't thought about it for this year though!!!

  8. we are gonna just do a footprint poem with Happy Fathers Day at the top and they can choose who to give it to, e.g. Grandparent, mum, dad, step dad etc.

    ?Walk a little slower ,? said the child so small.
    ?I?m following in your footsteps and I don?t want to fall.
    Sometimes your steps are very fast,
    Sometimes they?re hard to see;
    So walk a little slower,
    For you are leading me.
    Someday when I?m all grown up,
    You?re what I want to be;
    Then I will have a little child
    Who?ll want to follow me.
    And I would want to lead just right,
    And know that I was true;
    So walk a little slower,
    For I must follow you.?
