You could make the planets by blowing balloons into different sizes and then putting paper maiche over them, once dried you can paint them.

 

If you don't want to paint them you could use Geopatch it is like stong tissue and dries really well.You could use Modroc instead of papier mache it would be quicker.You could make life forms on other planets and see what they come up with.

 

Great idea, thanks. It is something I thought about doing, but by using the balloon planets in a mobile form. As it could be time consuming I would have to group the children instead of individual work, so still need to do some individual work with them aswell.
