ICT in learning activities

Discussion in 'Mathematics' started by kindling_not_vessels, Feb 8, 2012.

  1. In line with inspection recommendations I am trying to encourage our staff to help students use ICT in their learning (use of ICT for teaching is not an issue).
Could anyone suggest a source of information about activities involving ICT that could be used to enrich the learning experience in Mathematics.
I have plenty of general ideas for staff, it’s the subject specific ideas I’m looking for – thanks.

Not quite sure what you are looking for here - is it resources that students can use on their own?
I like using resources in class that students can use at home if they choose to - you can provide links on your VLE. For example - there are some excellent free graph plotting tools they could use.
I suggest you have a look at the NCETM microsite on ICT & Digital Technology used in Mathematics Teaching.
Some of my own favourites I have added to this blog for students.
