ICT in learning activities

Discussion in 'English' started by kindling_not_vessels, Feb 8, 2012.

  1. In line with inspection recommendations I am trying to encourage our staff to help students use ICT in their learning (use of ICT for teaching is not an issue).
Could anyone suggest a source of information about activities involving ICT that could be used to enrich the learning experience in English.
I have plenty of general ideas for staff, it’s the subject specific ideas I’m looking for – thanks.

    Get a copy of this:

It's FAB, and written by real English teachers!

    Oi! Wot you implyin'?
Incidentally we have no difference in results between girls and boys in our school and we reckon it's use of technology what does it.

I'd start with NATE's 'hard to teach' ICT project http://www.nate.org.uk/index.php?page=43

    Check out Triptico (google it.)

Remember, it's how the students use the ICT, not necessarily you, that makes the difference.

That lots of books about "how to teach" are written by people who've been to school but never in a classroom.
I wouldn't dare imply anything about you :)

My blog has resources I use organised by subject area. Just click on the 'English' label for resources and suggestions on how to use them in your classroom.
