ICT DiDA Unit 1 Strand b

Discussion in 'Computing and ICT' started by eurythmic, Jun 28, 2011.

  1. If you teach DiDA Unit 1 I would be interested to hear your thoughts on strand b - select and capture information.
    In this strand, do you simply assess students' ability to select and use correct and relevant factual info, or do you also include images in the definition of information and assess their choice of appropriate images, etc?
    Looking forward to hearing from you all!
  2. It's the range.
    • It always includes their data capture for ie questionairre;
    • whether they have set up database queries that produce useful results;
    • websites visited for info (not just images) & listed in their sources table;
    • own materials created ie photos, drawings/graphics & listed in their sources table;
    • clip art & listed in their sources table;
    • other sources used - books (don't laugh!), magazines, people, etc
    • any commentaries, review or notes where they mention how they gathered & selected info
    The bulk is the sources table and questionairre.
    Have a look at the pages for section B in my marking grids in the resource bank to get an idea of what I look for. The rest is down to your judgement.....
    Hope that helps!
