i-e sound

Discussion in 'English' started by Elise2011, Apr 29, 2012.

  1. Hi!
I am currently on my last placement of the pgde. My class teacher has asked me to introduce to the children in the primary 2 class the i-e sound. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about how I would do this. Been having a look online but seem to be getting nowhere and now im a bit confused.
How would you introduce it and what if anyone has any ideas for follow up activities that would be great.

  2. Also..sorry i am not sure i have posted this in the right place.

  3. Start the word I?
Get them to give u other words with that sound.
Write them down and get them to pick out the spellings for it.
    Can they spot a pattern?
In case this does not get u far with that particular group, have some words
    with the main patterns ready.
