Well, after umming and arring for so long I have finally done it, I have handed in my notice and my contract ceased yesterday!

I was in an Academy last year but started at a private institution in September. Well for the massive pay drop and I was led to believe I would be a teacher, no additional responsibilities. It was anything but. I aired my concerns on numerous occasions, promises made and nothing ever happened.

The amount of hours per week and no life outside of work, and I have given up so many things I used to do, and love. I thought, with the amazing support of my husband, sod this I want my life back!

The school did everything they could try to keep me, from emotional blackmail to threats etc etc. But it cemented my decision.

Supply teaching is for now, but I do not know what comes next.

Here is to a new adventure, there may be some bumps but by God I will have a life with it though!

Thank you for the replies all. I have to say having been in the supply game for the past 7 weeks |I am a completely different person. I am the old me. I do a part time long term post, in my subject specialism, and it has given me a new vigour for the profession. I get so much positivity thrown my way from staff, children and SLT. I am in a much better space, even after my previous post tried putting the kybosh on it. Thank you all for your support :D xx

Hey fantastic news. I worked as a Supply Teacher for a while and on the whole i found that I was given respect and thanked for teh work I had done. This was a whole new experience, very sad that it felt weird when people were nice to me. Good luck onward and upwards
