  1. I know - this is the kind of stuff for Personal, but you lot are my mates and I hardly post elsewhere anymore.
My niece, E.J., arrived today at 11.23
    7 pounds 6 ounces.
    Her second name is Mum's.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo over the moon.
I was eating Kohlrouladen when the sms arrived (at which point my sister must have still been panting).
See, I got a bit of foodie stuff in there...

  2. Woo hoo, CQ! Sorry Auntie CQ.
Yay! Woopee and hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!

Lovely news Aunty CQ! Be sure to spoil her!
  5. You bet.
I spoil my niece and nephew.
Sis spoils my son and daughter.
That is a question of honour [IMG]
I really am so happy for sis, though, it hasn't been easy for her, to have kids.
    And this is Feierabend.
There will be no more kids in this generation.
My family is reduced to a wee core.
And now we have to wait for a couple of decades before we reproduce.

    Awww that is lovely...
Our two do not have cousins yet so we still have to spoil them!
  7. What wonderful news for you and your family! Nieces and nephews are very special indeed. Do they live in England? I hope you get to meet the wee one soon.
  8. Yes - they are in England and I have no idea when I can get over but I am so excited to see her.
And I shed a wee tear today - my Mum, she will never see her. But I think she sent her, just as she sent me my job. She knew what her daughters needed.
That all sounds crazy and whacky if you were never on the bereavement thread, but I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo elated and happy and I could cry all over again.
Life is sometimes so sweet - that the sadness is like a cloud, that dizzies now and then around your head - but you can blow it away.
Oh sorry, I am waffling...this all belongs on the bereavement thread. All this philosophising.
I am so going to take care of you xxxx

I know what you mean CQ- harry was born close to the anniversary of my father's death. It almost felt like he had sent him to me. Silly, I know. Funny in a way how a birth makes you think about death.
  10. Only read as far as post 1 and I'm having a little cry to myself already!
I am overjoyed for you and your family - this is such lovely news. :)
Please pass on my best wishes and congratulations. So happy for you all.
    Love ya, mate.
  11. p.s. my first name initials are also EJ! ;-)

Wonderful news CQ...spoil the little one rotten and when she gets older teach her to moan in German (it drives parents mad...they are never sure if it is swearing and German can just be spat out in teenage frustration!)

I have to confess...when I read "second name is mums" I thought "hmmm...must be a German thing"...i'm ashamed [IMG]
