I work as a Primary Homeroom teacher in a bilingual school in a rather remote and developing country in south-east Asia. The children are a joy to teach. I normally teach the core subjects and others - English, ESL, Maths, Science, Citizenship, ICT, but I do not teach the specialist subjects of Art and Music. Note that although from the UK, my teacher training took place outside the UK and I have taught in this region for many years. I enjoy my job very much and work hard to give the best learning experience to all of my students. Now I have been asked to teach PE as well, which I am very happy to do, except I have no idea where to start! I want to be sure that what I teach in these lessons is of value to my class, as opposed to using the lesson to just kick a football about. I self-finance my own professional CPD course study and purchase of books etc to help me understand how to improve my teaching of a particular subject. So, can anyone suggest some useful resources, CPD or have general advice as to what I could teach in PE lessons for children aged between about 7 and 12 years, (and I realize that this is a wide age range - suggestions and resources by Key stage would be very useful).
