How to teach a third subject

Discussion in 'Secondary' started by smith30, Apr 1, 2011.

  1. Hi, I'm qualified to teach History and Religion but I'm interested in teaching another subject such as Maths/English etc but how do you get qualified to do that? Is there any courses available to do such a thing?

First ask yourself if you possess any ability in these subjects ( i.e a decent grade at A Level ). If not ask yourself if you can cope. If you believe you can, try teaching yourself the A Level and see how you do. If successful then go for it. If not then consider this: If you cannot teach yourself how are you going to teach someone else?
The more important question would be, why? Job security or current job boredom?
