How to start in private tutoring.

Discussion in 'Private tutors' started by yvessa, Jun 11, 2011.

  1. Hi,

I am a teacher in my second year, and have done some tutoring in the past. I want to do it a bit more seriously, but most of my tutees have been word of mouth. I put my name on a website but its very hit and miss, only got one tutee from that.

How do I get myself up and running?

  2. What geographical area are you in? Have you tried signing up with Home-School Tutoring. Unlike other tutoring websites there is an area manager for each locality who is the contact person for clients. They match clients to tutors so is you are on their list and you have subjects their clients want they recommend you to clients which means a much more personal service and less hit & miss. www.homeschooltutoring.co.uk
