How much of the Primary School Timetable do you teach?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by anon1057, Jun 20, 2012.

  1. How much of the timetable do you teach as a (PGCE) trainee?
Is it increased by the number of months you have been a trainee?

  2. Depends on the school you are in (some schools get specialist music/art/pe teachers to take those lessons). And depends on the stage of your PGCE. You will increase from perhaps 50% whole class responsibility to 80% through your course. You will teach no more than 90 because of the 10% PPA allowance (or Non-Contact time). You should get the PPA time, PLUS an addition 10% time off (this is equiv to an NQT's timetable).
