Hello. I'm doing a research project into how much schools spend on supply cover. I'm trying to build a picture of how our school compares to other schools.
I'd really appreciate it if you could answer the following 5 simple questions. If you're not sure of the exact numbers you can either do an estimation or send it to your business manager.
    Questions:
    For the last financial year.
    1. How much did you spend on teachers through a supply agency?

    2. How much did you spend on teaching assistants through a supply agency?

    3. Do you use sickness insurance? How much did it cost you?

    4. How much did you get back from your sickness insurance?

    5. What kind of school are you? How many pupils on roll?

    1. Around £4,000- we employ Cover Supervisors who generally cover absent teachers, but have had to source external cover occasionally where insufficient staff are available.

    2. £0- Didn’t need to source teaching assistant cover.

    3. No

    4. N/A

    5. Two form primary, 450 pupils on roll. Around 32 pupils per class. 14 full time class based teaching colleagues, 2 full time cover supervisors (with QTS), 16 teaching assistants (mixed part time / full time)

    Hope that helps your research.
