Just that, how many do you have and what do you think is the ideal number to be effective?

Counting reception class, through to y6 (1 form entry) we currently have 5, plus the head!
It hasn't been effective in any way, shape or form.

We have 3. small school with 4 classes. Only 1 class does not have a teacher on the SMT. Very difficult with a teaching head in a key stage that I am supposed to be responsible for.

another small school with 4 classes. We have the Head and one other teacher on the SMT ( that's me!) The Head is non teaching which helps!
  5. In a 7 class primary, we have 4 SLT members - head, deputy, TLR and bursar. The bursar brings an interesting balance to the discussions.
  6. 4 classes 100FTE. Non teaching head (me) and a p/t Assistant Head who is also SENCO. so that's an SMT of 1.6
