How long will it take to arrange an agreed settlement

I am currently signed off with stress. Spoken to my Union about the reasons and they have almost immediately pushed for an agreed settlement. I cannot survive without my salary. How long does this kind of settlement take on average? Feeling very concerned about my future and my ability to even apply for another teaching position, never mind acing an interview.

Any info you might be able to share with me would be gratefully received.

I know I'm not being descriptive but my colleagues use the forums.

I'm really sorry to hear about your difficult situation.

You are right to say very little. I can say very little about the timing, because it will vary so much. But I can give general advice:

Most people get no more than 3 months wages. If you are at the start of your sick leave then use it as you may be entitled to 6m full pay. My settlement took about 3-4 weeks. Payment was about 3-4 weeks after the paperwork was signed.
