How long a gap is too long between university & NQT year?

    Finding NQT posts is already very difficult in the UK, so if you try to get a post for 2012, there's no guarantee you'll actually find one.


    That said, I'd have thought your volunteering would actually make you stand out as a very interesting candidate and you'd be of particular interest to any school with a high proportion of Indian/Pakistan ethnic minority intake. Ethnic Minority and SEN ought to pretty much guarantee you a job really!


    So, I'd say if you're enjoying what you're doing and can afford to keep doing it, there's no reason to rush back to the UK.
