How do you practice reading?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Penguin1212, Apr 11, 2011.

  1. Hello!
I am going into work in the morning to run a half day session on reading - i.e. SAT/NCT. I have been panicing a little as the amount of teaching days we have left are short....
What activities do you do? What has worked? Problem is most of the class have signed up to come in, so varied levels (3c-5b).
Planning on splitting the morning into 3 - 30 min sessions with a 10 min break.
Thinking about looking at - Questions styles / How to answer 3 pointers / Your own ideas / What the character is thinking type of things, going to use some of the ideas from Quick Fix Comprehension.
Just wondered if any of you had any suggestions or ideas to make short sessions fun and interesting......really need to hit a high target this year!
  2. Thanks in advance..
