How do you feel whilst on supply?

Discussion in 'Supply teaching' started by 07158422, Feb 29, 2012.

  1. Thanks again everyone, you helped me sort my head out. I was actually asked today by the school I'm always going into to cover a class until June! Not sure if any of it will count towards my NQT but it's great experience. Plus I was told that if I need time off to do applications then that's fine :)

As you will be there for the equivalent of a term's length, you should be registered for Induction with the LA (BY THE SCHOOL) IF YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PLAN AND ASSESS A REGULAR TIMETABLE.
Induction terms can start at any point in one schools term as long as the intention is to still be employing you at the same point in the next term. You get the 10% reduced timetable. If full-time, you will complete one Induction term.
  3. You ask "how do I feel" ? I'm early retired but still doing some supply. People ask me (particularly teachers) why the hell am I still doing it?. I reply that I once read that you should do something once a day that frightens you. I find supply teaching fits the bill.

  4. That made me laugh!
