how do supply agencies feel about illness?

Discussion in 'Supply teaching' started by cliveceltic, Feb 22, 2012.

  1. I can't fault my agency. I am pregnant and after the Xmas hols was unable to return to a role, PPA afternoons til summer, due to sickness landing me in hospital. After a couple of weeks I still couldn't return and they mentioned it would be up to the school what they wanted to do to ensure consistency and they were trying to provide a consistent cover where possible. Anyway head teacher contacted me via email and I explained situation and that I would be returning after half term but if she needed to make other arrangements I understood as I am not contracted but she has allowed me to return this week. I've lost out on my AWR with too big a break but never mind! Maybe they have to be careful with pregnancy related illness though, who knows.
