I quite fancy some panelling in the hall. Is this too much, do you think? (Note, not the radiator cover)

I think the paneling like that would work.

I'd personally not go for grey ... maybe a light brown for me. But that's individual taste.

I liked the grey - was maybe even thinking a shade darker.
Are you doing any redecorating, Lan?

We're planning the redecoration of the smallest bedroom.

    Planning...

This involves talking and drinking tea.

I like it. Depends on the style/ age of the property. Def not the radiator cover and the floor tiles are making my eyes hurt.

Grey is very stylish @lanokia! Brown would be too dark IMO.

It's an old house and the style is currently 70s wood chip which I just can't stand any more. Part of the thinking with paneling is that it could just go over the wood chip with no need for stripping! I've a slate tiled floor which I would keep - much less busy than the tiles in the picture.

I think that's lovely, Flere. I'd be inclined to go a bit darker. Pinterest is good for ideas (you probably know that anyway)

I really like it too. Are your ceilings quite high too, Flere?

Nice, but natural wood varnished in "satin" finish.

I like the grey. It would look good with the slate tiles.

Not quite as high as that picture, kibosh, but yes.

I like the panelling but I agree with Jacob - natural wood would look nicer. The colour scheme in your picture feels a bit cold and stark to me.

I don't want the wood finish. I might if I thought I could afford to get the whole lot done in oak but I've a few other projects need done and I need the money for them too!

Grey looks military, or 60s mental hospital, prison, or detention centre. Grey is for Battleships, it is even the name of a colour.

This is the grey that inspired me! It's a bit warmer than the first picture but that has the high panelling I like.

I love the grey. It looks good with any colour and you can warm it up with rugs, paintings etc.
