HoD interview task

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by ycampbell, Feb 18, 2011.

  1. Dear Theo
I have been asked to attend "selection day" for a HoD post at an independent girls' school at beginning of March and have been told that as well as teaching a 35-minute lesson I will be asked to do a HoD task. Any ideas what this might consist of please? Also what types of questions I may get asked at interview as this is 1st HoD post I have gone for. Thank you

Congrats on the interview - great news!
Questions could well centre round: raising achievement; supporting students, supporting staff to raise achievement, dealing with pushy parents.
As for the task . . . writing a letter to parents, or identifying pupils for intervention from a spreadsheet of marks. Do a search on "in tray " to get some more ideas.
Looking forward to the new thread called Dear Theo - I got the job!
    Best wishes
