I am thinking of applying for Head Of 6th Form. Its an internal appointment and the job description says "expressions of interest" by the end of this week. Would you consider an expression of interest to be an application letter or just a short e mail saying you would like to be considered for the post?

    Thanks for all replies.

Ask the head teacher - he/she will give you the correct answer.

What did you end doing then? Letter or email?

What was your innovative idea for the 6thform?

I e mailed. In fact I just e mailed that I was interested.

No innovative ideas I m afraid. Wasnt aware I needed any. Just a clear management perspective and pushed my experience in working sixth form, and a few little things about how to recruit and retain more sixth formers and a desire to work with existing other KS heads in making sure school was a seamless whole - hardly innovative.
