Hockey /Volleyball Lesson plans

  1. Just wondered if anybody had any key stage 3 Hockey and volleyball lesson plans they would like to share , struggling to be creative particularly with Volleyball .

  3. AFL - where are they at now? Beginners? Did it for 6 lessons a year ago?
    You don't have to be creative in volleyball to encounter diffculties. If they work in twos, toss a high ball to each other and volley it back with accuracy and height, you will have done your job!
    A game will almost certainly entail 'catch' volleyball. That is if you have successfully got them to be able to serve. First touch, catch, second touch, catch, third touch, volley over the net. If you are not into volleyball yourself, it will be a difficult job. I love the game, have a pretty good knowledge of it and have coached solid KS4 school teams.
    And I still cry during initial lessons. The most frustrating sport on earth to teach.
    That's not much help I know, but spotting the weakness quickly and introducing tiny increments of skill development are key.
    Hockey is football with a stick!
