  1. When I achieved my HLTA status many years ago I was under the impression that I needed to have achieved a NVQ3/STAC, or equivalent, qualification. This does not appear to be so. How is it possible to attain HLTA without the indepth training to back up this status and to support children at this level?

  2. You don't need to have the NVQs. You do need to have experience. Our funding has been extended so the other TAs who were on the preparation days with me have been told it could be May or June before they are assessed. We were originally told it would be during March. I'm glad I've had my assessment already!
