History of English spelling

Discussion in 'English' started by mashabell, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. Maybe you could deal with the grammar error in your post first, and then tell us about your theory.

  2. It wasn't a grammatical error. I just dropped the word 'would'.
I would love to hear your explanation of why many English words used to have more than one spelling.

  3. You also dropped the personal pronoun but you don't seem to have noticed.

  4. Are we to assume, Masha, that you knew that you were making a grammatical error, before it was mentioned by Ellen? Does this mean that you are on a mission to alter grammar as well as spelling? (Please note the spelling of the word YOU, Masha.)
