Discussion in 'Health and wellbeing' started by pippump1, Jan 24, 2012.

  1. I have put this on pregnacy but not had any responses and i just really want to hear others advice or experiences<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td class="post">I have just had another blood test come back showing i have high prolactin levels, in the past i have had tests show this when i have had nipple discharge but now we are ttc this is a problem. doctor wants to repeat test on day 21 of my cycle (difficult as they have been irregular since i had an ovary removed at 19 due to a dermoid cyst and then kind of went into meltdown by not eating enough, getting very underweight etc in my early 20's). i am a healthy weight now and have been for 3 years and i take care of myself but this is a problem but the doctor didn't really explain it except that it stops ovulation. maybe i'm impatient but we've been trying 18 months i just wondered if others had experience of this and what tretment/options were avalible to them.
    Thanks
    </td></tr></table>

Have you seen an endocrinologist? They usually monitor to see if it goes down. It can be lowered by medication but they should look at why it is high as that's important.
