I have a class of 15 Reception chn this year and two EHCP chn. I have one TA. One of the children is working at 0-11 months for C&L and will only attend to things that are his agenda. He doesn't always respond to his name, and doesn't use communication as a means of interaction. He pulls all of our resources out of drawers and it is very difficult to get him to put things away when they are finished - he will just walk away when you are talking to him. We use very limited, clear language, we have had specialist teachers come and observe, but I am finding this to be extremely difficult.

My plan is to begin very short/sharp adult led activities e.g. attention building activities, very simple turn taking games, but I am very unsure where to even begin. Visuals do not work, we are trying objects of reference to go with visuals but this is still difficult.

Where I only have one TA, he does not have a full-time 1:1 (as I also have my other boy with similar needs) but we are trying our best.

    Any advice? Thank you.

Two EHCP children - what do their plans state? How many hours support? Why no support?

This is impossible and is letting down the children in the class - you need to speak to SLT asap.
