Help with PEE for a non specialist!

Discussion in 'English' started by worksleepwork, Mar 27, 2011.

  1. Hi

I'm a drama teacher by trade but I teach some English. My fisrt degree is actually in English literature, but I struggle sometimes to put literary analysis into appropriate terms for my Yr 8 students. We're studying The Tempest at the moment, and for an observation lesson I've been advised to do some PEE work with them analysing the language using technical vocabulary. But I'm really not sure where to start! Does anyone have any examples theycould give me of a PEE style analysis that I could use as a model for Y8 students? We are looking at the scene between Prospero and Caliban in Act 1, but any general exaple of PEE would be very useful!
