I've got teachers internship interview next week. I've been told to prepare a story telling session for 10 minutes. Which story would be appropriate for 5 KS1 children? Feeling quite nervous as there is not much time to prepare and there is 30 minutes interview as well.please help! thanks.

Go to your local library or bookshop and spend some time browsing their picture books. Pick one that you enjoy; that will help you to feel confident reading it, and the children will pick up on your enjoyment and that will help them to enjoy it.

Alternatively, don't use a book at all. Use puppets or a selection of props to tell a fairy tale. Use photos to illustrate an interesting story from your life or your local area.

And try not to feel nervous. 10 minutes is not long, and children tend to love stories. Good luck!

You could use story stones/ story cubes. Model how to use them to tell a simple story then get the chn to create the stories. Tease out the features of a story as you go.
