Help - what is best way of saying stay at home parent/ career break on application form?

I am currently doing my PGCE and looking for my first NQT job. Application forms always say that all gaps need to be explained. I have a 6 month gap from leaving last job and starting the subject knowledge enhancement course before PGCE. How do I put stay at home parent on the form? What is best way to make this positive? Do you put it at the top of the experience part of the form? It doesn't really fit in any of the sections.

I put down "5 years at home raising children and developing skills in perseverance, determination and patience" one head said it made her smile, others just ignored it
