I had 7 days off for holiday before christmas, agreed by the school.
My pay is £1816 per month, but I've been deducted £835 for the 7 days.
I can't work it out, does anyone know anything about payslips? The finance contact is unreachable in the school at this time.

Are these both gross figures or net figures?

I can't see any obvious correlation between the two numbers. I think you'll have to wait until finance contact is back and ask how the deduction was calculated.

Heya, I'm not sure what gross and net mean, but that's how much the amounts were before tax ni pension etc

I am not sure how it ended up at that figure, but a guess is you are paid for 195 days a year (spread over 365), so 16.25 days a month. Taking 7 of those off as a fraction of your salary should be a deduction of around 782. I’m not sure where the other 50 quid has gone though, student loans?
