Last year, we read Superhero ABC (a comic-book style alphabet book). http://www.amazon.co.uk/Superhero-ABC-Bob-Mcleod/dp/0060745169/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336829748&sr=8-1
Initially sung the alphabet, then looked through the book, talking about it being alphabetically-ordered. Read through a few pages, talking about the alliteration used.
Model a few ideas for Superhero-themed alliterative names/captions, and challenge children to come up with their own. The alliteration should be based on the intial letter of their first name, eg flying Freddie, marvellous Michelle etc. It should also if possible describe the superhero's super power.
They could 'become' a superhero if extra time, or have a go at designing a logo for their 'superhero costume' on a piece of paper.

  4. Hi, her's an option for a phonics superhero lesson. Use the PowerPoint ' superheros use special words' can they work outwhat they say? and see if children can blend sounds. Children can then have brightly coloured starburst paper- different sizes diff pens work on floor or tables writing their own. https://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Super-hero-Powerpoint-6034883/ good luck eve
