Help - PSRN lesson obvs

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by PipPie, Feb 25, 2011.

  1. Hi all,
I've got a PSRN focus observation next week. My basis is The Little Red Hen, has anyone got any 'outstanding' ideas I can run with?
    Thanks in advance.

  3. How about making bread? You can incorporate lots of language around measuring and comparing, count teaspoons and tablespoons of things etc. and the children will love it

PSRN: I made some wheat stalks (using clip art) different heights to be ordered. Same with clip art flour bags - sizes (sadly found a rather "rude" picture of a flour sack - not to worry!). Got some real sacks - made a "which is the heaviest sack" game - put in heavy but small things, light but bulky things - children automatically assume the bulkiest is the heaviest!
For physical outside we had a "Fill the Little Red Hen Sack Race" team game - each team member runs with a sack to pick up a brick (in our case) to put in the sack - the children decided first team to collect 6 bricks won.
